Way more Mountain Biking

 Mountain biking is fun, it is risky as well. It is hard work going uphill, fun and accelerating to come down hill. Whole of 2020 and first 6 months of 2021 I have spent many evenings doing this.  I liked biking from an early age. I learnt how to balance on a bike at around 7 years. It is definitely much later than my own kids. I took another few months learning to get on a bigger bike.  This past year has been awesome for biking. Pandemic made us stay home. This gave me time to spend on on biking , building bike and making friends who bike. I have always liked biking. Road biking is good but it gets boring after riding for more than a hour. I have had the luxury of trying different bikes in Bay Area. One reason is California is very well set up for bikers , the biking lanes and moderate weather helps. Covid made us stay home and since our house is next to Foothill road and the Pleasanton Ridge, I took the opportunity to take my humble ( ultra basic ) mountain bike on a trail. That attempt was a failure. But I liked the fact that many of Pleasanton trails are empty and can be accessed throughout the year. Since the trails were within a few hundred meters, the opportunity was there.    Raleigh Talus 2 was a basic bike with rim brakes and basic fork. The rear cassette was 11-34 , not very comfortable for a beginner. This bike is sold now ( I had to make room in our garage ). I had it for 1.5 years. It has moved one house only ;) A gentlemen was selling a 2010 specialized stump jumper for a fair price. I picked it up...

Wish I was here

Movie name : Wish I Was Here Mind is like a boat in water , thoughts are like waves that come from many directions. Throwing the boat around and creating confusion. This is how I feel when I sit down to write. Many many thoughts trying to find the right word, right phrase and right conjuncture which can depict the state of mind , state of life. Time moves very fast, relishing every day and every moment is very difficult. I love spending time with Arjun and Pranthi. I feel they are these high energy bouncy balls who are ready to absorb what is thrown at them. I remember how frustrating it was to teach Pranathi Swimming , now Pranathi can swim anywhere and I love seeing her take to the ocean. ( reminder : teach Arjun swimming in 2020 Summer ). Arjun had a hard time learning cycling , now he is a good cyclist. Sometimes I also feel we have too much power over these kids, I don't know if I have the knowledge, foresight to guide them appropriately. Sahana is very unique individua...

Ney York New York

We are planning a summer Trip to New York,  S is fully immersed in planning. Our goals for this trip Don't spend more than 5000$ We have 1 week off , so complete it in a week. We want to see Niagara, Big Apple and Washington ( packed trip ). We are landing in Buffalo NY and ending our trip in Washington DC.
